2026 Lilium formosanum Calendar

In collaboration with Mr. Ming Yung Luoh of Formosa Lily Studio,
we created the 2026 Lilium formosanum calendar.

The lily grows in Taiwan’s soil, but it also lives in memory, history, and identity.

You are welcome to download and share.
For me, this collaboration is not only about images or design —
it is a quiet conversation about land, memory, and continuity across time.

About the Film

Spring Breeze, Taiwan begins at a family dinner table.

It begins with a conversation about my nephew — his confusion, and the quiet hurt he felt around Taiwanese identity while studying in the United States. There was nothing dramatic about that dinner. It was ordinary.

But the conversation slowly opened into something much larger — intergenerational traces of history. It made me reflect on how my generation learned to negotiate parts of identity, and how the generation before us learned to live under fear and political control imposed by an external regime.

My family is not a direct victim family. But growing up, many contradictions were never openly questioned. They were absorbed into daily life. Normalized.

Eventually becoming realities that no longer required explanation. Language changed along with this process. Some things were not forbidden to speak — we simply lost the language to name them. The film is not only about historical events. It is about how history continues to live through language, education, family relationships, and social atmosphere.

I hope the film can also reach viewers who feel the loss of language, culture, or history — especially those unfamiliar with Taiwan’s past — and allow them to feel the emotional memory carried within language.
