Alone/Together

ALONE/TOGETHER Watch Release

ALONE/TOGETHER is available to watch on a pay-what-you-wish basis.

We’ve made the film free so anyone can watch, regardless of financial situation. At the same time, we rely on your support to keep it available.

If you’re able to contribute, your donation helps cover the real costs of making and sustaining an independent documentary. It also allows us to keep sharing this work with others, for free. (Donate Now)

The film brings together voices from 11 countries, reflecting on isolation during the pandemic and how it continues to shape life now.

It moves through personal and shared experiences—parenting, mental health, resilience, essential work, and coming of age during disruption—while also looking back at the broader social and political moment.

At its core is a simple question: how do we live through separation, and what do we carry forward?

You can watch on your own or with others. There is no right way to engage.

The film is available in English and Chinese. If you’d like to help add subtitles in another language, please reach out. For institutional screenings, contact the film team.

I’ve also started a Substack series, ALONE/TOGETHER: After Images, to continue the film through writing and reflection.

If this work resonates, your support helps sustain both this project and future work.
