Originally from Taiwan, New York City-based documentary filmmaker Hsuan Yu Pan loves to explore human stories through her lens. She worked as a segment producer at BRIC TV from 2011 until the pandemic happened in 2020.

Pan participated in the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council’s (LMCC) Governors Island COVID-19 Response Residency program in 2021. During the residency, she developed film projects related to migration, including Hear, Eat, Home, and Alone/Together. She also participated in the "From Island to Island" project of the Taiwanese American Arts Council on Governors Island in the Summer of 2023.
 

Pan enjoys collaborating with other filmmakers and artists. Her latest documentary film The Other Side of the Sea about NYC immigrant musicians and artists responding to Russia's invasion of Ukraine in 2022 was invited to screen in the Stockholm Design Week exhibition at The Royal Armory (Livrustkammaren) in February 2023.
