
Originally from Taiwan, New York City-based documentary filmmaker Hsuan Yu Pan loves to explore human stories through her lens. She worked as a segment producer at Bric TV from 2011 until the pandemic happened in 2020.

She was also a participant in Lower Manhattan Cultural Council’s (LMCC) Governors Island COVID-19 Response Residency program in 2021. Pan developed film projects related to migration and the pandemic, including “Hear, Eat, Home” and “Alone/Together.”Pan likes to collaborate with other filmmakers. She is the DP/Editor of ROCKY FLATS directed by Nancy Wolfe.
Pan continues to work on stories related to immigrants and refugees. Her latest documentary film THE OTHER SIDE OF THE SEA was invited by Belarusian / Swedish artist Ludmila Christeseva to be in the Stockholm Design Week exhibition in February 2023. They continue their collaboration journey.
Currently, Pan is an artist in residency of the " From Island to Island" project by the Taiwanese American Arts Council project on Governors Island, NY from May 5-Oct 29, 2023. Her solo exhibition is scheduled from June 28-July 29, 2023.
